When was ORBITZ Pearl Shakes established?

Orbitz Pearl Shakes was established on July 14, 1999. The idea to create this fascinating drink began when one young entrepreneur discovered an innovative way of concocting fruit-based shakes with pearls while in Vancouver, Canada. It was introduced in the market when the 1ststore was opened on October 29, 1999 in Manila Philippines.

What process is involved in the application?

First, submit a Letter of Intent together with the Application Form. This will be followed by an interview, meetings, payment of deposit, submission of requirements, payment of the package, review of the Contract and signing, construction of the booth/cart, and finally training.

* Time frame – depends on the projected schedule and mutual commitment of both parties. Approximately six (6) weeks or 45-60 days from date of completion of requirements.

Is there any Royalty Fees?

The franchise is for WHOLESALE package. Therefore, NO ROYALTY FEE, NO RENEWAL FEE.

What is the location requirement for a store?

A cart-outlet is a semi-permanent structure with movable parts. The minimum area requirement is 4 sq.m. to 5 sq.m. It is advisable to find a location that has high in foot traffic like malls, supermarkets, commercial centers, schools, and transportation terminals.

Will we be assisted to find a location and hire staff?

No. The location will be sourced by the franchisee including the hiring of their staffs. We can only assist in terms of ocular visit with a minimal assessment fee, depending on the location.

If the location is in the province, who will provide the forwarder?

The Franchisee will contact their choice of forwarder company.

Can I operate more than one booth/cart?

Yes, as long as no other Orbitz Pearl Shakes is within the perimeter/vicinity. We highly encourage multiple branches. No two operators will be allowed in the same mall or anywhere near the area of the first operator.

How much is the Franchise Package?

The business will be fully operational at a franchise package of Php 170,000.00.

What training will we receive as franchisees?

For a franchisee of Orbitz Pearl Shakes, the owner and his employees will undergo an intensive training of 6 days. This includes 1 day classroom training and 5 days of hands-on training in one of the company owned carts. However, a new provincial franchisee can opt to have their training on-site provided that they will have to shoulder the cost of airfare, airport tax, board and lodging, per diem of trainee. A maximum of three (3) days training will be allowed.

As our franchisee you will receive a copy of the confidential Franchise Operations Manual. This contains the policies and procedures involved in running an Orbitz Pearl Shakes booth.

Where do we get the supplies and ingredients?

After the initial stocks had been released, the franchisees are to continuously get their stocks and ingredients from Metro Grind Corp. This would include the flavored powders, yoghurt powder, mango purée, plastic cups, sealer film, straw, blender, black pearl, crystal, cookies, dome lids (when necessary), uniforms and equipments.

Orbitz Pearl Shakes have over 100 branches that are strategically located all over the Philippines.

What other expenses will I incur?

The franchisee will handle the expenses of the following start-up capital.

What differentiates Orbitz Pearl Shakes from other brands?

Orbitz Pearl Shakes’ flavors and blends are carefully conceptualized by an expert research and development group. Each powder is made only from delectable blend of milk and natural flavors.
